A Cabo wedding costs less than its reputation at the resorts that publish prices: ceremony packages from $1,950 and receptions from $90 to $310 per guest.

This piece covers what Los Cabos resorts actually publish: the ceremony packages, the per-guest reception prices and what gets added to them, the rules on how many guests must stay on site, the outside-vendor fees, the civil registry's own marriage fee, and the taxes on every room night. It also says which famous venues publish nothing at all. Every capacity, price and rule below was checked against the venue's own published terms, or against Mexican government pages, in October 2026.

How Much Does a Cabo Wedding Cost?

For 60 guests at a resort that publishes its prices, the ceremony and reception come to roughly $7,350 at the cheapest tiers and about $29,900 at the most expensive, once tax and service are added. The ceremony package is the small part, $1,950 to $5,434. The reception decides the budget: $90 to $310 per guest, and at some resorts 16% tax and a 15% service fee on top. Décor, music and photography are usually extra.

The spread is mostly about what the per-guest price includes and whether tax is in it. Price the reception first, then the ceremony, then the rules about who sleeps where.

Cabo Wedding Packages With Published Prices

Villa del Palmar Cabo San Lucas, on the beach in Cabo San Lucas, publishes four ceremony packages, each valid from 2 to 70 guests, with taxes and service fees included1: Love Is In The Air from $1,950, Endless Love from $3,530, Fly Me to the Moon from $3,990 and Truly Madly Deeply from $4,520. Its receptions are priced per guest, tax and service included: a 3-hour Love reception from $90 and a 5-hour Passion reception from $190. Both carry a line that reads "FB: Additional charge of $55 usd pp applies" without saying who pays it, so ask before you multiply.

Villa del Palmar also offers a complimentary ceremony, valued at $3,350 for 2 to 60 guests, if you contract at least 10 rooms for at least 3 nights each. The promotion's terms on the same page still say travel must be completed by December 20, 2025, so ask whether it runs for your date.

Garza Blanca Los Cabos, in the resort corridor, lists its packages on its parent company's wedding site2. Ceremonies run from $2,477 (Gemstone, no guest minimum) to $3,797 (Sapphire) and $5,434 (Opalo); the last two cover 2 to 50 guests, with each extra guest at $8. Décor and entertainment are not included. Receptions are $188, $237 or $310 per person, and here the tax is not in the price: each is plus 16% taxes and a 15% service fee. Guests who book the all-inclusive plan for at least three nights get 30% off their reception price.

That one line explains most of the gap between quotes. Garza Blanca's $188 becomes about $246 a head once tax and service are added to it, while Villa del Palmar's $190 already includes them.

The Rules That Change the Price: Room Blocks and Wedding Passes

The resorts that publish rules rather than prices tell you as much. Grand Velas Los Cabos, an all-inclusive in the corridor, publishes no package prices, but its wedding FAQ is specific3: at least 80% of guests must stay at the resort; guests not staying at a Velas resort buy a wedding pass for $330 on arrival, guaranteed only on the ceremony date; outside vendors are allowed for an additional fee of approximately 10% of the total; the date is held with a non-refundable 5% of the event cost and 5% of the room block; and the wedding room rate needs at least 10 suites for 3 nights.

Run that for 60 guests. At most 12 can sleep elsewhere, and if all 12 do, their passes come to $3,960, about the price of a whole ceremony package down the road.

Its largest spaces are big: the Grand Velas Ballroom seats 500 for dinner and the Terraza del Mar 4504. Size is not the constraint in Cabo. The room block is.

Outside Vendors and Minimums at the Luxury Resorts

At the top of the market, Waldorf Astoria Los Cabos Pedregal takes the opposite line on vendors: "We do not charge vendor fees," its FAQ says, though food and alcohol must both be bought from the resort5. It requires a professional planner if your guest count is higher than 50, and warns that any shortfall against your minimum contracted revenue can be charged as a penalty. It does not publish what that minimum is. Its 2026 wedding offer gives a sense of scale: a one-minute fireworks show is included only with $60,000 in net guest-room revenue, two minutes with $100,000, and a site-inspection stay is $475 a night plus tax and service6.

Esperanza, Auberge Resorts Collection and Chileno Bay, Auberge Resorts Collection both charge a venue fee and publish neither amount78. Chileno Bay prices it in two tiers, 50 guests or fewer and more than 50, and its event lawn holds 250. We could not read the wedding pages of One&Only Palmilla, Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach or The Cape, a Thompson Hotel this month, so we have no verified figure for them.

Cabo Wedding Venues That Are Not Resorts

The foothills behind San José del Cabo hold the venues couples ask about by name, and none of them publishes a price. That is not a reason to skip them, but it is a reason to ask for a full quote, with minimums, before you fall for one.

Flora Farms opens a barn in its mango grove, with its own kitchen, plus a herb-garden amphitheatre, a lakeside lawn and a potting shed for smaller groups; it says guest count, time of year and the kind of celebration decide which space you get9. Acre Baja lists its spaces with capacities: the Mango Orchard for up to 350, Los Agaves for 250, and intimate weddings for up to 4810. In Cabo San Lucas, Sunset Monalisa takes a full buyout of up to 490 for dinner or 150 for a ceremony, facing the Arch11. And Hotel El Ganzo in San José lists a beach club for 500 plated and a rooftop for 12012.

Without a room block to fill, these venues earn their money on the event itself, so expect a food and drink minimum and outside vendors for rentals, lighting and transport. Ask for all three in writing.

Count who will actually sleep at the resort before you choose one, because in Cabo the share of guests who must stay on site decides the venue as often as the price does

Getting Married Legally in Los Cabos: The Civil Registry Fee

The legal ceremony is cheap and the paperwork is not. The Baja California Sur civil registry charges two foreigners 1,348 pesos to marry in its office and 4,049 pesos for the registry judge to come to your venue; if one of you is Mexican, the office fee is 810 pesos13. At recent exchange rates the venue fee is a couple of hundred dollars.

The requirements are the real cost. The registry asks for each birth certificate apostilled and translated into Spanish by a translator authorised by the state's superior court, premarital medical tests from a local health centre that are valid for 15 days and must still be valid on the wedding day, four adult witnesses who are not your parents or grandparents, and every document filed 10 days before the date, by appointment.

That is why many couples sign the legal paperwork at home before they fly and hold a symbolic ceremony in Cabo, which needs no registry at all. It is also often the cheaper route.

What Your Guests Pay on Top: Taxes and the Room Fee

Mexico's value-added tax is 16%14. The reduced 8% rate for the northern border does not apply in Baja California Sur: the tax authority's list of border municipalities names none in the state15. On rooms, Baja California Sur adds a 4% lodging tax16.

Los Cabos adds its own environmental sanitation fee, charged per room per night. For 2026 it is 70% of the daily UMA for a hotel room and 200% for a room booked through a rental platform17. With the 2026 UMA at 117.31 pesos18, that is about 82 pesos a night for a hotel room and about 235 pesos for a rental. It is small per night, but it is the kind of line guests notice at checkout, so put it in your travel note.

How to Price a Cabo Wedding Yourself

1. Price the reception first. Ask every resort for its per-guest reception price and whether tax and service are inside it. $188 plus 16% and 15% is not the same number as $190 all in.

2. Multiply by your real guest count. A package for "2 to 50 guests" needs an extra-guest price; Garza Blanca publishes $8, Villa del Palmar says only that one applies. Get it before you compare.

3. Ask how many guests must stay on site. Grand Velas requires 80%. If your family wants a cheaper hotel, price the wedding pass for each of them.

4. Ask what an outside vendor costs. Around 10% of the total at Grand Velas, nothing at the Waldorf Astoria, which instead makes all food and drink its own. If you have a photographer or band in mind, this decides the venue.

5. Read the free-ceremony terms. The complimentary ceremonies are real and tied to a room block, typically 10 rooms for 3 nights. Check the travel dates in the terms, not just the headline.

6. Decide where the legal ceremony happens. If you marry in Cabo, budget the registry fee, the translations and 10 days of lead time. If you marry at home, you can drop all of it.

When a Cabo Wedding Costs More Than It Looks

The calendar is the first exception. The eastern Pacific hurricane season runs May 15 to November 30, with most storms between late June and early October and a peak in late August19. The dates outside that window are the ones resorts can sell with the least weather risk. If you book in the late summer or early autumn, read the resort's weather policy before you pay the deposit.

The second is the luxury tier. Esperanza, Chileno Bay and the Waldorf Astoria publish venue fees and minimums as words, not numbers. A minimum contracted revenue you do not reach is still paid, so get the figure before you sign.

If Cabo Prices Out
